the lusitano almost mythical in its equine perfection, combined with the legendary touch of 2 great masters in the art of dressage, nuno oliveira and his son, joao oliveira, spell pure magic! and azeitao serves as one of the stages in which this play began...nuno oliveira young, dashing with his lovely bride, branca lory and their infant son joao,spent idyllic days at quinta dos arcos.the father in constant communication with these magnificient creatures and the green eyed cherub, joao, under a giant date palm watched by the faithfull familly dog, takes in the scene, not quite understanding but certainly feeling every forward movement which later shaped his equestrian foundation, which during his lifetime he shared with many of those who understood riding at its best!
the soul and heart of arrabida and azeitao can be found in its people, in my lifetime i have travelled the world and have experienced first hand, numerous cultures from different countries but i will say this, my trips to this region will always be remembered for my hosts and friends generosity and sincerity, most people in portugal as a whole, open their homes and their hearts willingly and without reservation. aside from this the place offers amenities found in 5 star resorts but dressed down with simplicity. i experienced the best pedicure ever! even better than what i have had in beverly hills and hong kong ,from marcia in nearby setubal,she was amazing! her place was very clean, tools well cleaned and disinfected much more than some high end places. she is reasonable and never in a hurry like most places in california for example, she takes her time.
for highlights, color and blow drys the very handsome and artisitc carlos tops the list. mind you i go to a beverly hills salon, known for its hollywood a list clientel and carlos is just as good and creative with his paint brush! he gave me one of my best highlights and color and all this done in the privacy of your bedroom or pool! this is what i call lifestyle of the rich and very famous but 1/4 the hassle and price.
